The Half Way Check In

If you are anything like me, you set some New Year’s Resolutions and haven’t done all you planned on doing. Welcome to the party. We have great intentions, but sometimes the intentions get side railed. Maybe your goals were too lofty so you’ve thrown the towel in and decided to wait till next year to tackle the plan, kind of like you did last year. If you’re thinking you failed again or that you’ll never be able to do it . . . STOP! You are no different than any of us. We all want more and we all fall short at some time or another.

DON’T GIVE UP!

Progress is progress even if it is just a little bit. Just because you’ve fallen short on a goal, does not mean you should give up on it. You just have to readjust your plan. What better time to do it than at the half way point. Make some of the steps easier or maybe fewer. Instead of saying you’ll lose 30 pounds by summer, look at what you lost (before you gave up) and decide what IS possible. If you lost 2 of the 5 pounds in the first month, use that as your new base. What were you doing when you lost those two pounds? Adjust and start again because if you stay on that same track from now until the end of the year, in December you could lose 12 pounds and that’s a heck of a lot better than giving up and putting more weight on and trying it again in January. As long as you keep trying, some good will come. Just don’t give up.

Be Proud of Yourself

On the other hand, maybe you made it easy for yourself and you already completed everything you said you’d do. Clearly, you didn’t challenge yourself if you fall in this group. Make it worth your time. Pick something you really want or have dreamed about doing and push yourself so you will be proud to say,  I did it. Take you goal and break it down into six steps (July-December). Then take each one and break it down to 4 weekly goals. You can do it.

Life Happens

Don’t be tough on yourself. We all need to  tweak our goals at different times throughout the year in order to move forward. But don’t give up on them. If it’s not perfect, learn from the failed attempts and celebrate the victories. During the rough patches, re-adjust and keep going. Your goals are a work in progress. Look at what was working during the good times and step back when you fall short. Acknowledge what got you off track and remember shit happens. Let’s face it ladies, we’re not perfect. Life happens, family visits and the refrigerator breaks. So what! Whatever the reason, just get back on track. If your goals are to challenging, cut it in half. But don’t give up.

It’s Time to Take a Step

Social Distancing Has Become Isolating

It seems Covid became a magnifying glass for obstacles, challenges and isolation… How do we get ourselves back on track? With all the quarantine restrictions, feeling alone has become more popular and craving meaning and purpose seem  more wide spread. Trying to come up with ideas or muster up the energy to move forward almost seems impossible. So, how do we take those first steps that we know we need to take but can’t seem to find the right path, the right outlet or the right motivation?

We Do It Together!

Power Within Her believes that women are strongest when they work together. They naturally gravitate toward connection and build lasting bonds of support and encouragement.  This is why Power Within Her has created The Master Focus Group.

Together, we will learn to accept the past, become clear about where we are right now and create an individualized plan for where we want to be. When women feel connected and safe, they are able to relax, share and grow. There is no time like right now for us to come together and help each other be the woman that is dying to come out. It’s time to re-connect with you.

The Benefit of Connection

The Power Within Her ~ Master Focus Group is formed of 6-8 like-minded women who crave change in their life. It is for the person who is ready to take steps to make this change happen.

This small group is by design to allow more individual work, deeper connection, accountability and confidentiality. Through peer support, guidance and a safe environment, each member is able to develop a personal action plan to achieve their goals.

Come join us and re-discover your dreams.

It’s Spring Time

It’s Officially Spring!

Look what is going on during this time of year. You feel it, smell it and see it happening right before your eyes. Life is happening all around us and also within us. As the days get longer and the weather gets warmer, we witness and become part of the earth coming to life. It marks the end of hibernation and the beginning of regrowth as the birds start singing in the morning, trees begin growing green leaves and flowers push through the dirt and blossom .

There’s More

In addition, our hormones actually begin to change. We produce lower amounts of melatonin which reduces depression, our retinas are effected by the longer appearance of the sun. We sleep less and energy surges. We become more aware of body image and we begin to eat healthier. Resulting in a decreased desire to reach for comfort food. Instead, we replace it with gardening and outdoor cooking leading us to healthier choices. The nice weather draws us outside to work in the yard, take a walk and connect with others. Because we spend more time outside, we breath more fresh air and move our bodies more.

Spring Has Sprung

This is the time for rebirth, renewal, rejuvenation. It’s the season of new beginnings. What is your new beginning? What dream will you give birth to? This is your time to get into action and live the life you’ve been waiting to live. Get out of the house. Open the windows. Live! Start to fertilize your inner growth. Join a pottery class, take a walk or plant a garden. Bring a part of you to life that you have been neglecting. Get creative, set your goals and indulge in your hobbies.  Start growing during springtime and continue throughout the year. It’s time to begin tending to your inner garden and make changes in your life. You deserve it.
